Farm to Face Skin-Care
Back to basics and simply natural!
60-minute hot stones
Quality does not have to be complicated or ostentatious. It can be that first bite of a fresh strawberry in June or the smell of a rose. That is all quality ever needs to be—a return to sweet simplicity. There is beauty in health and in nature, and I believe Mario's gift is a return to a time before rushing, over-processing, over-thinking, and over-doing.
Skin is the largest organ of the body. It not only excretes toxins but it also absorbs them, along with many other substances with which it comes in contact. There is significant use of trans-dermal medication in Western Medicine today so most of us are at least aware of the potential for powerful substances entering our bodies and effecting profound change through our skin.
While very little definitive research has been done on all the products we use daily and all the myriad ingredients these products contain, there is enough evidence for me to want to be more cautious about what I put on my skin and on the skin of clients who come to Energy Matters.
I have always made my own lotions for this reason. I know I am using fresh organic ingredients and the highest quality of essential oils that I can get creative with and customize, if needed. It is fun for me—a labor of love and something I have done for decades for myself and my family.
As such, the ‘spa kitchen’ is just an extension of what I have always done at home, interwoven with Mario’s love of cooking, farmer’s markets, and the tradition and good feelings associated with having something special prepared for you.
I have put yogurt, oatmeal, roses, avocado, fruits, cucumbers, garden herbs, teas, etc. on my own face for years. Mario has the gentle touch that makes the experience even more nourishing and nurturing. No one else is doing it so why not?
So that’s the idea of the Farm to Face skin-care. I was going to have seasonal menus but am not sure I can keep up with that and it may limit my creativity and the use of what is available and fresh. So having grown up as a foodie in California’s Bay Area near Alice Water’s Chez Panisse, I think the menu will be based on the finest and freshest seasonal ingredients that are produced sustainably and locally when possible (local organic yogurt, where are you?). That way I can stay creative and flexible, whimsical and inventive.

Sessions suited to your needs!
This is a place where you can be yourself and take your time.
We personalize each session to treat the “whole you” and are most satisfied
when we are able to develop long-term relationships that enable us to learn what is best for you.
We love what we do. It is a passion and a calling. We are not overworked or underpaid. We don't do "turn and burn" 50 minute massages (calling them an hour) with 10 minutes to get the next person on the table. This is not a “fast food” massage establishment. We will remember your name. We will not ever try to sell you anything or even ask you to rebook. We view what we do as truly therapeutic and not a luxury service.
If you are looking for a space to feel at home, where you will belong no matter what is going on and in whatever state you find yourself, this is your destination.
Sessions are by Appointment Only
Cancellation Policy: 24 hour notice is requested so that we do not lose money or time. If such notice is not made, we reserve the right to charge for lost time and income. If you choose not to honor this policy, you will be removed from the schedule with notice.
